The Royal Palace of the next captial was enclosed within a five meter
high laterite wall which is doubled by a second of later construction.
At the centrer of this enclosure in Phimeanakas, a laterite pyramid of
rectangular plan in three tiers, which was perhaps a private royal chapel.
The composition characteristically diminishes with height in order to effect
a false perspective.
